Terms and Conditions for Small Moves

Welcome to Small Moves! These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our moving and related services. By engaging Small Moves for any service, you agree to comply with and be bound by these terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Service Description

Small Moves, based in Largo, Florida, provides residential and commercial moving services throughout the greater Tampa Bay region, including Clearwater, St. Petersburg, and surrounding counties. Our services include, but are not limited to, packing, crating, transport, and specialized handling of delicate items. We operate as an intrastate non-hazmat licensed carrier and an authorized household goods carrier with our own fleet and drivers.

2. Quotes and Estimates

• All quotes provided by Small Moves are estimates based on the information provided by the client.
• Final charges may vary based on actual services rendered, additional items, unforeseen circumstances, or changes to the scope of work.
• We will communicate any significant changes to the estimate as soon as they become apparent.

3. Booking and Payment

• A deposit may be required to secure your moving date. This deposit is non-refundable if cancellation occurs within a specified period (e.g., 72 hours) before the scheduled move.
• Full payment for services is due upon completion of the move, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.
• Small Moves accepts various payment methods, details of which will be provided at the time of booking.
• Late payments may incur additional charges.

4. Client Responsibilities

• Clients must ensure all items to be moved are properly prepared and packed, unless packing services have been specifically requested and confirmed.
• Clients are responsible for declaring any items of extraordinary value prior to the move.
• Clients must provide accurate access information for both origin and destination locations, including parking availability, elevator access, and any other relevant details.
• Clients are responsible for disconnecting all appliances and electronics and ensuring they are ready for transport.

5. Liability and Insurance

• Small Moves takes utmost care in handling your belongings. We carry standard valuation coverage as mandated by law.
• Details of our liability and optional additional insurance coverage will be provided in your moving contract.
• We are not liable for items packed by the client unless visible external damage to the box or container is evident and directly attributable to our handling.
• We are not responsible for damage to items caused by defects inherent in the item itself, or by changes in atmospheric conditions.

6. Prohibited Items

For safety and regulatory reasons, Small Moves cannot transport certain items. These include, but are not limited to, hazardous materials, flammables, explosives, perishable food items, live animals, and plants. Please consult with us if you have questions about specific items.

7. Cancellations and Rescheduling

• Requests for cancellation or rescheduling must be submitted in writing.
• Fees may apply for cancellations or reschedules made within a short period (e.g., 48-72 hours) of the scheduled service date.

8. Claims and Disputes

Any claims for loss or damage must be reported to Small Moves within a specified timeframe (e.g., 9 months) from the date of delivery, as required by federal regulations for interstate carriers, which we follow for intrastate moves as well. All claims must be submitted in writing with supporting documentation.

9. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

10. Amendments

Small Moves reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be posted on our official website, smallmoversfl.com, and will be effective immediately upon posting.
